LCRC announces scholarship awards | Boothbay Register

The Republican Lincoln County Commission is accepting applications for the 2022 Helen Weston Scholarship. This year, two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded. Recipients may use the proceeds to pay for portions of tuition fees, living costs, or other costs associated with college-level academic education or specialized technical or vocational training.

All students residing in Lincoln County, including students attending Medomak Valley High, Coastal Christian School, Lincoln Academy, Boothbay Region High School, Wiscasset High School, Wiscasset Christian Academy, and in homeschool programs are eligible.

Weston was the first woman to serve as Lincoln County Commissioner. She died while serving in the office. Her husband, George Weston, established the Scholarship Fund in her memory in 1991. Since the fund’s inception, the London Refugee Center has offered 22 scholarships to deserving students from Lincoln County.
